Self driving enthusiasts can choose fast opening automatic tents, which are faster and more convenient to build and store, but they are heavier, making them more suitable for storage in the trunk. Due to the lightweight and convenient portability of hand tents, they can be used in various scenarios. Therefore, today we will mainly talk about hand tents. Types of Tents From the perspective of tent structure, it can be roughly divided into four types: 1. geodesic tent; 2. Dome tent (DOME); 3. Tunnel tent; 4. Ultra light tent. Dome tents, commonly referred to as self-supporting tents, are also the most commonly seen. The most basic structure is a cross shaped tent pole. This type of tent is simple to build and has good space, making it an ideal choice for beginner mountain enthusiasts. Its wind and snow resistance performance is very outstanding, so this type of tent is also the most widely used and well-known dome tents, such as the Cold Mountain series of Mugao Di and the Humba of foreign famous MSR, It also adopts a dome design. According to seasonal characteristics, it can also be divided into: 1. Seasonal tents (mountain tents); 2. Three season tents. The main functions of the Four Seasons tent are reflected in its wind resistance and snow pressure resistance. Therefore, materials with higher strength will be selected for the tent poles and outer tent to ensure its functionality. Therefore, this type of tent also has a disadvantage that it is relatively heavy, such as the Cold Mountain Four Seasons tent of Mu Gaodi, which weighs around 2.5kg. Another function is to keep warm. Generally, the interior curtains of the Four Seasons tent are made of half mesh, and now some of the fabrics of the warm interior curtains have a layer of resin paste scraped, which not only keeps warm but also has a certain degree of breathability. The three season tent is designed for spring, summer, and autumn, and is the dominant product in the global tent market. This is because the three season tent occupies the main camping season for ordinary consumers and is also one of the reasons why major brands have the most diverse product lines. The general waterproof index of the outer curtain fabric of the three season tent is 1500mm~3000mm, which is more than enough for general precipitation, and even better can prevent rainstorm. Single pole tents and ridge shaped tents use this support method. Shopping Tips Before choosing a tent, there are three questions to ask: 1. What season or environment do you want to use tents in each year? 2. How many people often use tents? 3. How much do you want to spend? If you only use tents in the spring, summer, and autumn seasons, and are using them in low altitude areas (below 3000 meters), a regular three season tent with a waterproof coefficient of less than 3000 is sufficient. If you enjoy long-distance travel with one person, you can choose to purchase a single tent or a tent for 1-2 people, such as a single pole tent, which is lighter in weight; If it is for 2 or 3 people, choose a tent of the corresponding size. If you use tents in winter and relatively high altitude areas, it is recommended to use a four season tent with a snow skirt, which has relatively good wind resistance, pressure resistance, and waterproof performance. Domestic brands are relatively good, such as Mu Gao Di/Soul of Liberty/Noke/Sanfeng, because in high-risk environments, the choice of equipment directly affects your safety. Generally, such environments require aluminum pole curtains with a waterproof coefficient of over 3000 and coated with silicone fabric. It is recommended to buy a better tent within one's financial capacity. Precautions Precautions for using camping and mountaineering tents: 1. When setting up a tent, the outer tent must be straightened, the wind rope should be pulled properly, and the ground nails should be fastened to avoid contact with the inner tent. The water droplets on the inner side of the waterproof outer tent should penetrate into the inner tent; 2. Tents should not be exposed to sunlight in high temperatures, and the bottom cloth should not be placed on hot beaches and ground to prevent PU aging and reduce waterproof performance; 3. When collecting the tent, it is necessary to slowly roll it up and have a directional direction to drive away the air inside the tent.
